What is an Interoperability Bootcamp?

Digital health is transforming healthcare delivery globally and in the Southeast Asia and Pacific region, emphasising the need for a skilled workforce adept in modern technologies, healthcare standards and interoperability. The Digital Health Interoperability Bootcamp will address this need by providing focused, practical training to develop these essential skills through immersive learning opportunities. Participants will engage in hands-on workshops to gain experience in developing FHIR enabled digital health applications using tools like Ontoserver, Google Open Health Stack (OHS), SMILE clinical Data Repository and AidBox.

Bootcamp activities will cover key areas such as FHIR terminology, structured data capture, health information exchange, electronic data submission, and FHIR analytics, using a simulated environment i.e. FHIR Lab, addressing real-world healthcare challenges, with use cases such as immunisation, maternal health and non-communicable diseases. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own use cases to explore innovative solutions.
